Most of the time I make homemade sambar powder, fresh just enough for one-time preparation. Making it at home is easy and can be prepared in just a few minutes, it is flavourful and hygienic.

Recipe
Ingredients
- 1 Tbsp Cumin Seeds (Jeera)
- 1 tbsp Coriander Seeds ( Dhana)
- 10 – 12 Black pepper corns ( Meeree)
- 1 Tbsp Mustard Seeds (Rai)
- 4 dried Red Chilli (Lal Mirch )
- 1 Tbsp ( Urad Dal )
- 1 Tbsp ( Chana Dal)
- ¼ Tbsp Fenugreek Seeds ( Methi)
- 2 Tbsp Dry Coconut
- 2 Tbsp Curry leaves ( Karipatta)
Method
- In a broad pan sauté all ingredients on low flame till it gives out a good aroma.
- Remove from heat and cool.
- Grind to a fine powder.
- Store in an airtight jar.
- Remains fresh in the fridge for 6 months.
