This soup can be made in the season when fresh peas are available in abundance, but if fresh peas are not available frozen peas can also be used just thaw and rinse them before use.

The basic ingredients are required to make this soup are pea, onion, garlic, salt and butter .Some additional ingredients can also be added to enhance the flavours like fresh herbs, pepper and lemon juice. A teaspoon of cream can also be added at the last to increase the richness.

 Pea Soup Recipe

Preparation Time: 5 minutes
Cooking Time: 15 minutes
Total Time: 20 minutes

Ingredients

 ½  Cup Shelled Peas
6  Cloves Of Garlic
1 Small Onion
 2 Tsp Butter
Salt to taste
2 Cup Vegetable Stock (optional)

Method

Pea Soup

Chop onions and garlic finely.

Heat butter in a pan, add onion and gently fry till translucent stirring occasionally. Stir in chopped garlic,
saute for few seconds.

Add in peas and 2 cup water  or stock.Let it cook for 5 to 10 minutes till the peas are soft.

Then remove from heat, blend to a smooth paste.

Pour the blended pea soup into a pan heat add salt, let it boil for 2 minutes. Serve hot.

According to your liking and taste, you can add lemon juice, pepper powder, fresh herbs and cream.
