How to make homemade Chaat Masala Powder

Homemade Chaat Masala powder is one of the all-purpose spice mix is often used to sprinkle on salads chaats curd or fruits. Homemade chaat masala powder is spicy salty and tangy in taste and perks up the taste of any simple dish instantly. Though it is easily available in store with homemade version you are absolutely sure of what is going inside. You will need basic ingredients which are easily available.

Though I have added asafoetida (hing) to the recipe you can avoid it.

Preparation Time: 10 minutes
Cooking Time: 5 minutes
Makes: 70 gm

Ingredients

  • Heat a pan on a low flame.
  • Add cumin seeds, coriander seeds, black peppercorns, red chilies, carom seeds, cinnamon sticks, cloves.
  • Roast for 4 to 5 minutes on a low flame stirring continuously till it just starts changing color and give off its aroma.
  • Cool and grind.
  • Add mango powder salt and asafoetida and blend well.
  • Cool and store in an air-tight container.
  • Stays for 6 months.
