Fish wrapped in banana leaves steamed and served hot, this is the recipe I am sharing here.

If you love fish you will surely love this tender and wonderful-tasting recipe. This recipe is easy to make, it takes little time and tastes delicious.

What could be better than fish pieces coated in herbs and spices and wrapped in banana leaf and steamed or grilled?

At a time I could not get banana leaves instead it I used colocasia leaves, in each leaf I wrapped one piece of fish, and the taste was equally the same..The only difference was, as these leaves are much thin and soft than the banana leaves it tends to stick to the fish pieces and have to be removed more carefully.

If banana leaves is not available you can fold in foil paper also.

At times Banana leaves are thick and brittle and break easily in wrapping, just heat the leaves on tawa or griddle for few seconds, it will change colour and become darker, now it can be wrapped easily.

Banana leaf has a middle stalk, tear of the middle blade. Cut the leaf into
30 – 40 cm pieces. Wrap the marinated fish in banana leaf and steam it.
Here I have steamed the fish you can grill it over a barbeque or bake it in an oven also.
